For my first trip to Venice, Florida i decided to attend a TEDx event upon where I got to become a part of a wonderful group of TEDsters sharing ideas and obtaining new information. The talks varied from Human trafficking, lies we tell ourselves, branding, following your own voice, becoming Autism acceptance, to how to say goodbye to a partner. I had the privilege to be among some great minds young and old. All of them leaders of their own trade and each of them had a story to tell some filled with heartbreak and destruction, and some corky and sarcastic, nut they all had the guts to get up in front of a crowd and share their passion. The flow of the event went as such they followed the rule of three and broke the sections into three parts with videos playing in-between live speakers the videos were TED talks that Judy(the director of the event) and her team had selected. We had breakfast lunch and a cocktail hour after the event. During the time we weren't stuffing our faces we were "playing" in small groups where it was coloring, building animals with Play dough, participating in movement activities in the presidents room, or just sitting on pillows speaking with others about how they got involved or heard about the event. I found it more interesting how TED partners with the local business the market and reach out to the local community about the event business provide the "gear" (mugs, shirts, signs, letters, FOOD) but they are not allowed to market their business it was a bit strange and something I have to look more into. Until next time I bid you farewell and have a great weekend.
Joseph
